Veteran Law Enforcement Professional and Certified Ramsey Solutions Financial Master Coach

As a Deputy Chief of a mid-sized law enforcement agency, I oversee the day-to-day operations while continuing to serve first responders in another critical way—through financial wellness education.

My passion for financial freedom began in 2020 when my wife Shannon and I, newly married, tackled $67,000 in consumer debt, including furniture, car loans, student loans, and credit cards. Through discipline and strategic financial planning, we achieved debt freedom—an experience that shaped the foundation of what I now teach.

As a financial wellness facilitator, I have had the privilege of leading a financial wellness program that has empowered first responders to take control of their finances. Since Spring 2020, the program has resulted in a remarkable $1 million turnaround for the 140 employees who have had access to it.

With over 17 years in law enforcement, including seven years in supervisory roles, I’ve gained extensive leadership experience. I hold a Master’s degree in Public Administration, am a graduate of Northwestern University’s Police Staff and Command Management School, and am a Certified Ramsey Solutions Financial Master Coach.

I’ve conducted in-house financial wellness training for numerous law enforcement organizations and have spoken to hundreds of first responder professionals at renowned conferences. Additionally, I’ve partnered with local Mobile Training Units (MTUs) to deliver my ILETSB-certified course, Justice in Your Wallet: Equipping Officers for Success—a program designed specifically for first responders. I also collaborate with the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) Executive Institute, an organization that shares my passion for first responder financial wellness.

Through these initiatives, I continue to equip officers with the tools they need to take control of their finances, build a secure future, and achieve financial peace—all while staying active in my law enforcement career.
